I am a prolific reader and I am trying to become a prolific writer. Do I want to be the next Great American Novelist? Sure, in the same way that everyone does, but not in the way of actually doing it. I’m wise enough and not too proud to admit that.
However, I do want to write a novel. I have a novel in my head and partially written. Actually, I have multiple novels in my head and partially written. I also have a couple of screenplays in my head, but not written because the formatting paralyzes me. I’m working on all of that. In the meanwhile, these are some of my favorite reading and writing websites.
LibraryThing – for those who want no part of social reading; home of TinyCat
Project Gutenberg – free books (also you can help edit, if that’s something you’re into)
Book Trib – book news and reviews
Literary Hub – book news and reviews
Public Books – “a magazine of ideas, arts, and scholarship”
I use RSS to consume news about the world. I love to talk about RSS. Show me your clever ways of using RSS please. I currently use:
InoReader
The Old Reader – for fans of Google Reader (RIP)
FeedMe App for Android
Reeder Classic for iPhone
