Like most people I suffer from information overload–or rather, have suffered for at least a couple of decades now. I’m a curious person, I like to know and learn new things, and I’m always afraid of forgetting what I’ve learned. I believe this is how I became a digital hoarder.
No more!
I’ve begun the great consolidation of 2026. I’ve been digging deep into every service I’ve ever used and exporting the information. This includes old devices and apps. It’s all easier said than done, but I’m finding a treasure trove of notes and links. Why didn’t I pursue my ideas 10 years ago? 15?
There’s no time like the present. Everything is being imported into my primary Obsidian vault, where I will sort and sift. Soon my digital garden will appear here and I will begin thinking and learning in public more deliberately. I will stop scattering my ideas to the four winds. I will stop depending on the tools and services of others to preserve the things I want to share.
It’s kind of a pain, but exciting to rediscover myself and have some incentive for continued iterating on ideas.
